Data Steward

Department: Technology Solutions
Location: Virginia Beach, VA

 

Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group is seeking a Data Steward for our Technology Solutions Department in our Virginia Beach office. 

As a subject matter expert, the Data Steward should be the source of information as it relates to maintaining Atlantic Bay Mortgage Groupís high standards for data quality.

 Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Ability to gather and know the information.

  • Demonstrated skill managing and analyzing data.

  • Managing and being the subject matter expert in databases, querying and reporting tools.

  • Provides functional, technical and process understanding.

  • Help in the technical resolution of issues.

  • Occasionally use JavaScript, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) and SQL to help improve processes by configuring new technology already being used in the process.

  • Act as a technical resource with an in-depth understanding of data and information architecture and consult on data-based decisions.

  • Manages the standardization, cleaning and quality of the master data. 

  • The Data Steward will recognize and work with the Product Owner to create process improvements to drive effectiveness, efficiency, accuracy, and quality.

   

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Expert level in proficiency in Excel.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a position leveraging information as an asset. 
  • Ability to work on and prioritize multiple tasks. 
  • Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines. 
  • Fundamental basic knowledge of programming/coding logic/languages (to include JavaScript, VBA and SQL) in a process improvement environment. 
  • Ability to identify and describe the complex interplay between data in the various systems of origin and final use (e.g., reporting, decision-making, regulatory compliance, etc.). 
  • Strong analytical skills as well as hands-on experience with data-related issue analysis and development of solutions to resolve data quality issues and identify trends. 
  • High level of independent judgement, decision-making, teamwork and initiative. 
  • Translate business requirements into technical actionable tasks.
